Your films have been mounted into a holder (cardboard, plastic, etc.) which, normally have slightly rounded corners.  In order to provide a full transfer of your slides; we scan and capture a portion of the holder.  If you choose the original scan you will receive the image with a black border as shown in the example.

We can crop (cut off) a large portion of the scanned holder; thereby, leaving one hundred percent of the image.  However, please note that a small border and the corners remain.

Small border example

Closer cropping will eliminate most, if not all, of the small borders.  However, please note a small portion of the image may be eliminated and the black corners will remain.

Even closer cropping will remove the borders and corners.  This makes for better viewing, but you lose the extreme outside edges of the images.
