WHAT FORMAT DVDs DO YOU SEND?

4.7GB DVD-R is our default media because it offers the widest compatibility with computer drives and home DVD players; however, we also offer 4.7GB DVD +R media.  We use high end media manufactured by such industry leaders as TDK, Sony, Memorex and Verbatim.  We use NTSC (National Television System Committee) standards.  Most new DVD players will play either of the aforementioned formats; however, some of the older players are not multi formats; therefore, you should check your player before placing order.

DO YOU GUARANTEE THE DVD?

We warrant the DVDs to be free from defects; however, we do not know what name brand, make, model or format DVD player that each customer has.  We ask that you check your player for the required format before ordering.

We guarantee each disc to play in the least expensive "Cheapest" player that is sold on the date of production at Wal-Mart, Circuit City or Best Buy.  Occasionally, we purchase the cheapest players that are sold at Wal-mart, Best Buy and Circuit City so we can check our productions and each disc is inserted into, no less than, three different players before shipment.

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

Our Normal backlog is twenty one business days.  This time may, and will vary, due to seasons and special orders.  We do honor special request for a specific time, if we have an opening.

SHOULD I INSERT BACKGROUND MUSIC?

Background music can add enjoyment and beauty to a presentation; if, properly applied, but this takes more thought on your part.  All photos should be placed in a chapter (group) that is similar in theme, (e.g. births with happy/joyous music, deaths with solemn music, sports with appropriate music, etc.).  It's your presentation and you're the one that has to live with it; therefore, we recommend that you think carefully about what music you insert in each situation because you might not like listing to the Lone Ranger Theme (William Tell Overture) at a wedding ... then again?

MUSIC INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS?

We offer three (3) choices for background music insertions:

  1. You provide the music to be inserted, but remember, you must hold copyrights or licenses to use the music and it must be in an acceptable format for insertion.  "We do not steal music".

  2. Winston Web World, Inc., owner of myliferemembered.com, has purchased rights to a limited number of compositions and these can be inserted without charge.

  3. Winston Web World, Inc., owner of myliferemembered.com, acting as your agent, can purchase assorted music from walmart.com; at the then going prices.  You will be responsible for visiting walmart.com and choosing the particular song, artist and album.  We only purchase from walmart.com because we believe they provide legal music; however, you can obtain music from any source and send it with you photos.  You will be billed for the same amount as we actually pay.

HOW MANY SONGS WILL IT TAKE FOR MY PRESENTATION?

Normally; a good rule of thumb for the number of songs needed is: take the length of the song and divide it by the length of time that you want to view each photo (e.g. "My Heart Will Go On", by Celine Dion at 5:24 {equals 324 seconds} divided by 10 seconds viewing will equal approximately 32 songs, but "Memories", by Elvis Presley at 2:20 {equals 80 seconds} divided by 10 seconds will give approximately 8).  All of this said; we like to use approximately 25 photos with a 3 minute song.

HOW LONG WILL EACH PICTURE BE DISPLAYED?

If you have music inserted; you can figure the viewing time using this formula.  The amount of time a particular song plays divided by the number of photos to be shown in this time frame (normally twenty five) will equal the amount of time each picture is to remain on the screen, for viewing.  Example being, if a song is two minutes and thirty seconds (2:30) in length and you have twenty five pictures; then each picture could be arranged to be viewed for approximately six (6) seconds each.  If you want more viewing time you must use fewer pictures per song or longer songs.

ARE YOUR DESIGNERS EXPERIENCED?

YES; our designers are professionals.  Our designers also design internet Web pages, Web sites and presentations for businesses, individuals, politicians, and churches.  You can visit our Web design center at Winston Web World.  Each designer is experienced in the use of numerous types of photo enhancement software, Web design software, scanner software and burner software.  However, more important than the experience of our designers is their concern for producing quality presentations for your enjoyment.

WILL THE PROCESS HARM MY PHOTOS?

No; if you do not have digital photos, our designers will scan your photos, using one of our scanners, either auto fed or hand processed.  The scanner, in the simplest terms, will take a picture of your photo and transmit the image to the computer in digital format.  Our designers will scan each photo, check for any needed cropping (computer image only, your photo will not be trimmed or altered in any way) and sometimes do "minor" touch up with our software (computer image only).  However, you should note that, normally, the quality of the picture that you receive will be the same as the quality of the picture that you send.  Digital conversion stops deterioration of quality, but does not restore what is missing.  There are specialists that do picture restoration and even picture modifications; we however are not in that profession.  Our specialty is converting formats, design and layout of the presentation.

PRE-ORDER CONSIDERATIONS?

PREORDER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Presentation order of photos (if you want chronological order then you must number/label each picture. NOTE: be careful when labeling photos because some markers contain chemicals that will harm the photo),

  • Music you want to use.

  • Title page information.

  • Any special design request.

If you consider these things before ordering then you will save yourself the hassle of having to make contact with the designer and the possibility of the production being completed or past the point of easy change.

REMEMBER TO CHECK THE FORMAT OF YOUR DVD PLAYER BECAUSE WE WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY WITH YOUR PURCHASE.
