An application program
that uses the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to communicate
with Web servers. Visitor can, via a Web browser, view,
upload, download and interact with, code (Web pages) on the
World Wide Web. Two of the best known browsers are
Netscape’s Navigator, the first widely used browser, and
Microsoft’s internet explorer, both of which are capable of
displaying graphics and text. Additionally, both have the
capabilities of displaying multimedia information (sound and
