RESOLUTION

The number of pixels that make up an electronic image in a given area of an image; such as pixels per inch or pixels per centimeter.  High resolution is the term for an image with a lot of pixels in a given area; therefore, low resolutions would mean that there are not many pixels in a given area.

(The word "Pixel" derives from "Picture Element" and, in the simplest of terms, is a dot.)
